I love autumn in Minnesota. The mature trees changing colors, countless apple orchards, pumpkin patches, neighbors decorating outside for trick-or-treaters and our cute downtown could be a backdrop to our own version of Gilmore Girls. I didn’t always embrace this. As someone who grew up mostly in warmer climates, I’d get anxious when fall approaches. After my first born turned one, I realized how quickly time passes by and the need for me to find the joy in each season. Autumn is the season of falling leaves and for me, it also means time to shed the things weighing me down. 10 more Sundays 🎄. The other day my kids expressed how excited they are for all the upcoming holidays that we celebrate — Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love the idea that we can simultaneously look forward to them all. While we won’t be decorating for Christmas anytime soon (I think), it doesn’t mean we can’t get excited or plan for it.
