Before our mudroom gets decorated for Christmas, I wanted to share its evolution from 2018 to now. It’s always rewarding to see progress and I hope it gives you some ideas on how to add character and charm to a blank space, even the smallest of ones. Save this for inspiration for your next small space project and a reminder that it’s okay to update little by little vs. all at once.

Adding a touch of holiday cheer to my bedroom is just what I needed. This bedroom had small closets with hardly any design elements when we moved in. Little by little we’ve added character and functionality. Serena smart shades by @lutronelectronics is hands down one of my top 3 favorite things about our bedroom!
I’ve had the best sleep with them. I can control the blackout shade using the Pico smart remote, Lutron app or voice assistants. Ours is set on a schedule to automatically lower and rise at a certain time, ensuring a dark room to fall asleep in, and waking up peacefully with natural light.

She’s a beaut, Clark! My husband caught the Christmas bug and insisted on hanging lights on all of our seven super tall arborvitae trees for the first time🎄. Turned out so beautiful — you can call him Brian Griswold from here on out!
