Been waiting all summer for this 😍!
Here are two important tips that you can save for healthy + thriving hydrangeas and fall is the perfect time to plant them! 1) Prune at the right time. For us, that is early spring before any buds start forming after winter freeze is over. 2) Fertilize mid-spring right after you see any buds. Comment “YARD” and I’ll send over my yard + garden essentials including the recommended fertilizer.

We had our neighbors over for homemade pizza dinner. Lots of laughter and kids playing. This is what summer nights are all about. After they left, I stayed up picking up the kitchen since Brian did all the prepping + cooking. Which I don’t mind one bit. Here’s a kitchen reset moment where I caught myself admiring it all before heading to bed.

I’m so glad that I live in a world with hydrangeas 😍! We took a day trip to a nearby town and this scene caught my eyes immediately. Then I realized it was the same house I snapped a photo of 6 years ago. Swipe to see how much the hydrangeas have grown since.
Our limelights aren’t quite thriving right now but this gives me hope 🫶. File this under summer inspo ✔️

We moved into our home 13 yrs ago, here are some things we’ve done to it — Part 2. Anything surprise you? See Part 1 in my last reel.
When we moved into our house in 2011, we had 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. As our family grew, we knew we needed another bathroom. And we did so by converting a sleeping porch off our ensuite bedroom into the ensuite bathroom. My husband started demoing before the pandemic and it took us two years to wrap up the project. It’s surreal every time I walk in here!
Before our girls’ bedroom was theirs, it was our bedroom right after we moved in. We slept there while we fixed the cracks and painted the entire house. Our girls are now 9 and 11 and it has been a joy for us to transform it into their dream bedroom.
Our basement was very outdated and had that old basement smell. Turns out the wood boards were rotting and there was mold behind them and the vinyl floors. We did this remodel in phases and took about a span of 11 years. Now it’s the perfect movie spot and hang out room.
I hope this series helps you see a home’s potential vs. its move-in condition. And most importantly, that home takes time.
