Over a year later, we finally painted our guest bedroom & office using Farrow & Ball Pigeon! This is the room where we DIY’d a Murphy bed with built-in inset cabinets (see the tutorial here). I was very excited to reveal it on my Instagram the other day because we are smitten by this paint color! Keep on reading to see the before and after photos, as well as the progression of this room.

We finished building the DIY horizontal Murphy bed for our guest bedroom & office earlier this month. It looks amazing! There were a few setbacks. In addition to uneven walls and ceiling, the Murphy bed and custom built-in cabinets were beyond Brian’s carpentry skillset. But he persevered and did an incredible job with the seamless design in this 7′ tall room in our basement.

I don’t have an actual home office or dedicated workspace. I’ve been working out of our dining room, living room, kitchen, bedroom – wherever I can find space that day. Does this sound like you? With managing our rental business, creating digital marketing and my blog, I’ll admit this is a difficult way to work. Not to mention very disorganized.

We have plans to turn our old uninsulated back entry into my office someday.
