Most Recommended Best Concealer and Foundation for Acne-Prone Skin
A few months ago, I asked my Instagram followers for recommendations on the best concealer and foundation for acne-prone skin. Lots of responses poured in! I haven’t used foundation or concealer since high school due to my acne-prone skin. It would feel so heavy and caked on but that may be because it was the cheap Wet & Wild brand. Now that I’ve entered 40, I’m more confident than ever but still have red and brown spots from old acne scars that I want to conceal while out and about.
I’ve compiled the most recommended concealer and foundation from my community and you can read until the end to see what I ended up buying!

What I Bought
I decided on the It Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Natural Matte Foundation with SPF 40 and really love it! I’ve been using it for over two months now. I like that it has SPF 40 and has a very natural coverage that glides on easily. The matte finish is perfect for my oily skin. I’d recommend for acne-prone skin. And I’m so happy to have this on hand because three weeks ago, my hormonal acne flared up on my jawline! It’s the worst it has ever looked in a really long time but this has helped cover up the redness.
Before and After (prior to my hormonal cystic acne flare up)
*I realized I didn’t capture a before picture until I had dabbed on the foundation
After is with the It CC foundation (in Neutral Tan), Merit flush balm, Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm, Benefit Mascara, Loreal Eyeliner, Benefits Eyebrows
*Tip: I used the beauty blender (first time) and would highly recommend for application
I’ll share more about my acne journey in an upcoming post. While I’ve definitely entered my confident-than-ever era, I’m still hoping for clearer skin. For those suffering from skin issues like acne, remember that it does not define us. YOU are beautiful!
