Save Our Restaurants Sunday

Supporting Our Minneapolis Food & Drinks Scene

My blog is mainly focused on home and DIY projects but community is important to me. Like I mentioned in my last post for small shops, lots of businesses and industries have been negatively impacted with the current events and are in dire need. But for this post, I wanted to touch on our local small food & drinks establishments. Some could be shutting their doors for good but others have pivoted to protect the safety of customers and find ways to still serve our community through takeout, curbside pickup and delivery. With so many facing financial uncertainties, it’s not my intent to ask anyone to open up their wallets. But rather, this is to encourage those who still feel fortunate and want to find ways to help.

A lot of my readers and IG followers have also asked for a restaurant guide during this time so I put a call out on my IG stories for submissions. We’re all feeling the weight of this situation right now but it gives me hope with how much kindness is being spread. I’m unsure of the impact this post will yield but figured it doesn’t hurt. Restaurants have provided us with date nights, milestone celebrations, family bonding time and just a great experience when we’re tired of being in our kitchen. But beyond that, this pandemic means millions could lose their jobs and that breaks my heart. For my fellow Minneapolis residents, below is a list of local restaurants, coffee shops and breweries who would greatly appreciate our support.

These establishments have been narrowed down from my Instagram submissions (submitted by owners or nominated) along with some of my favorites. See websites for hours as most have been adjusted.

Thank you to everyone who submitted! I wish I could include them all but had to narrow down due to time (got three kids who constantly need snacks over here!). You can also check out Eater Twin Cities for their restaurant guide of where to order for delivery and to go from independent restaurants during MN’s ‘Stay At Home’ order. And if you’d rather not leave home, purchasing gift cards is another great way to help!

While this is a weird time for all of us, I hope you are doing your best to enjoy the time at home. And for those essential workers who don’t have a choice to stay home, I thank you every day.

Wishing you all good health and safety!

Sweetest Regards, Patti
